Of deep form, painted and gilt to the interior with a central well of flowerheads bordered by lappets enclosing geometric motifs and stylised stems of peony and kiku, the exterior with shaped cartouches containing flowers and figural scenes including families at leisurely pursuits and the duel between Benkei and Yoshitsune; signed Hozan. 12.2cm (4¾in) diam.
