Each plate with the same design, in the foreground are two tea-houses in front of which is smoke emitting from a fire burning beneath a large cryptomeria tree, a kettle suspended from a branch boils on top whilst a woman fans the fire, a palanquin bearer pauses to light his pipe and to the far right, another traveller is seen resting on a bench; a view of Lake Biwa in the distance, both signed Ryokuzan. Both 18.5cm (7¼in) diam. (2).
