Of hexagonal section, the body inset with six lobed gold lacquer panels richly inlaid in typical Shibayama style with different species of birds among seasonal flowers, the shoulder, neck, cover and foot decorated with floral motifs inlaid in cloisonné enamel, the shoulder applied with six elephant-head handles attached with a loose ring, the cover surmounted by a knop in the form of silver eagle perched on a rock, signed in a rectangular tablet Motoyoshi koku. 29½cm (11 5/8in) high.
