One by Haruyuki and one by Gyokko, Meiji Period
The first of walrus tusk, standing with a basket slung around to his front, overbrimming with stalks of chrysanthemums, his right hand holding a pipe; signed Haruyuki, 42cm (16½in) high; the second farmer of ivory, carrying a kettle in one hand whilst the other holds a basket filled with grapes, a squirrel clambering over the brim, a bundle of faggots rolled in a rush mat strapped to his back; signed Gyokko, 38cm (15in) high. (2).
