Hasegawa family, 19th century
Of wide form, bearing a kinji ground, decorated with a hawk capturing a crane in mid-air, the reverse with a hawk perched on a withered tree, all in gold, silver and slight coloured takamakie, the interior of nashiji, signed Hasegawa saku with seal Hasegawa; with ebony seal netsuke of a cockerel, carved beneath with archaic characters; and a gold ojime of a skein of rope, unsigned. 8.9cm (3½in) high.
