Ota Gako (1892-1975)

Two yakusha-e dai-oban tate-e woodblock prints, both from the series Gendai Butai Geika (Flowers of the Contemporary Stage), the first of the the actor Onoe Baiko VII as 'Fujitsubo', the lower right corner impressed with edition no.73; the second of the actor Nakamura Utaemon VI as 'Yatsuhashi', the lower right corner with impressed edition no.114; both published by Mitake Koshodo and signed Gako with seal Ota. Both 42.6cm x 27.4cm (16¾in x 10¾in). (2).
