A very rare Bow figural centrepiece

circa 1765-70
Of fanciful form, the base modelled as a trefoil pond with spouts of water issuing from a rocky island in the centre, a small dog and two birds applied to the rockwork, three mermaids standing in the centre to support two tiers of the shells, painted with flowers and with feathered puce borders, applied scolopendrium leaves trailing in between the tiers, surmounted by a foliate spray, 32cm high (firing cracks extended across the base, minor losses and restorations)
