A commemorative Prattware jug

circa 1797
Moulded on both sides with a three-quarter length portrait of Admiral Jervis, a banner on one side with the moulded title 'LORD JARVIS' (sic), holding a speaking trumpet and flanked by ships and dolphins, a border of gun barrels and ramrods above, the moulding delicately picked out in Pratt colours, 13.1cm high (rim chip, glaze crack)

Admiral Sir John Jervis was victor at the Battle of Cape St Vincent and was created Earl St Vincent in the same year
