A Staffordshire bust of Maria Foot

circa 1825
Mounted on a square table base title 'MISS FOOT', the young actress wearing a pink dress trimmed in turquoise, the socle picked out in blue, 29.2cm high (one foot of base restuck, a few chips to base)

Maria Foot made her theatrical debut as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, aged just thirteen. She moved to London a few years later. She retired in 1831, when she married Charles Stanhope, fourth Earl Harrington
