A rare blue and white pearlware Toby jug

circa 1820
Of traditional form, seated and holding a thinly potted jug painted with a flower spray and crowsfoot border, a pipe resting at his side, his hat, coat, breeches and boots coloured blue, his face, hair and the base carefully delineated in blue, a small bowl containing a spoon painted on the back of the chair, 26cm high (hat restored)

This jug is in good condition. The catalogue incorrectly lists the hat as restored, but there has not been any restoration to this piece.
