A Swansea plate from the Lysaght Service

circa 1817-20
Of small size, painted by Henry Morris with a wickerwork basket of flowers resting upon a stone plinth hung with a garland of red flowers, the rich blue border gilt with scrollwork, 20.6cm diam (chip to footrim, some wear to gilding)

The Lysaght Service is thought have been produced during the Bevington period. A range of plates from the service, from The Viscount St Davids Collection, were sold in these rooms on 8 April 2009, lots 238-241 as well as an important Swansea plate with related decoration, lot 237. Plates of this small size are rare
