The corpulent figures wearing richly painted costume picked out in gold, one carrying a stick, their large hats bearing advertisements, the adolescent dwarf with a poster for an auction sale by 'Mr Christy', the adult dwarf announcing a performance of 'tight rope dancing and tumbling' by Mr Lasselio, 16.5cm and 18cm high, incised 'No 227' (adult dwarf with one arm broken and restored, more minor losses and restorations) (2)
