A good Worcester milk jug

circa 1770
Of pear shape with a sparrow beak spout and a grooved handle, painted in famille rose style with the 'Spinning Maiden' or 'Lady at the Loom' pattern, a lady seated before a complicated loom, the reverse with plants growing from tall blue rockwork, a crowsfoot border below the interior rim, 9cm high
