A fine Worcester sparrow beak jug

circa 1755-57
Of 'Scratch Cross' type and with a grooved handle, painted in blue with the 'Cormorant' pattern, the animated bird perched upon a tall rock, a fisherman in a sampan in the distance, the reverse with a broad-leaved flowering plant, a leaf motif painted beneath the spout, 8cm high, workman's mark beneath the handle
