Bukhara knife: blade 18th century, scabbard late 19th century-early 20th century; dagger: late 19th century
the knife of typical form with solid clear rock crystal handle, straight blade forged from Damascus steel with characteristic elbow-shaped pattern of floral branches in gold and silver; brown leather scabbard with intricate gilded fittings at each end and silk cord with two tassels; accompanying dagger with curved steel blade with a single groove; handle with silver and niello decoration with gold inserts, silver scabbard with Islamic inscription on the upper mount decorated en suite
overall length of knife: 31cm (12 1/4in).; overall length of dagger: 34cm (13in).
