Footnotes
The Glandinorwig was built by Doxford's at Sunderland in 1876 and she was one of four almost identical ordered by D.P. Williams & Co's Gwynedd Shipping Company. Sailing from her home port of Caernarvon, the Glandinorwig delivered Welsh slate from Snowdonia to the American slate industry and returning with a cargo of New Orleans cotton or Canadian wood.
