A group of two Arita porcelain vessels

19th Century
The first a deep bowl of octagonal section, the well decorated in underglaze blue with a landscape scene surrounded by panels of peonies and chrysanthemums, with shaped landscape panels, peonies, and rabbits over scudding waves painted within the lobed rim; the second a charger decorated in underglaze blue with a dragon and clouds surrounded by floral and geometric bands within a lobed rim, bearing a Chinese reign mark of the Qianlong period to the recessed base.
