A small portable Shinto shrine

The rectangular black lacquered zushi with gilt metal fittings on the double doors opening to reveal a seated figure of Tenjin carved from sandalwood with gilt and pigment details, the reverse with a long inscription bearing the date Kanen 3rd year (1751); together with a large four-case lacquer inro with raised decoration of a sage in a flowering landscape with remains of silver and mother-of-pearl inlay.
