A pair of bronze doves on a wood base

Maruki Company, Meiji/Taisho Period
Each captured in a naturalistic pose, one landing with wings extended and gazing curiously at the other resting with its head and wings tucked close to the body, the eyes picked out in gilt, one with a cartouche reading Nihon-koku Maruki-sei, each supported on a natural driftwood base tinted a dark brown.
