Each expertly cast and engraved with a crested bird perched on a leafy branch, the lower section of the waisted neck encircled by an abstract foliate band executed in gold, silver and copper honzogan, an elegant silver-inlaid garland suspended below the rim, signed on the recessed base Kako beneath the double mountain mark of the Kiritsu Kosho Kaisha.

Bronze vases signed Kako (the go (art name) of Suzuki Chokichi) under a 'double mountain' mark are reputed to be mostly based on designs after one of the 1,969 drawings dating from between 1877 and 1890, commissioned by the Kiritsu Kosho Kaisha from various artists and now preserved in Tokyo University of Arts.
