A tinted ivory okimono of a dancer

Meiji Period
Depicting a geisha in the guise of a shirabyoshi dancer wearing the characteristic tall court hat (tate-eboshi) and clothed in an elaborately decorated kimono scattered with characters for longevity, her head turning to one side as she steps to the beat of a small drum (kotsuzumi) held in her hands to the front, the features heightened with colored pigment accents, a cartouche on the base signed Munetomo.
