Two wood and ivory figural studies

19th Century
The first a wooden kyogen performer dancing with a bell-rattle, his face covered by an ivory Sanbaso mask, signed Jugyoku; the second a carved boxwood manzai dancer wearing the characteristic costume and tall eboshi, his face and tabi fashioned from ivory, with stained accents.
