Two metal snuff bottles

Late Qing/Early Republic Period
The first a dual-layered baitong bottle, the outer layer designed with eight lions chasing brocade balls, reticulated to reveal the plain inner bottle, the details of the lions finely defined with incised lines, the surfaces with traces of gilt paint, matching original stopper; the second of flattened baluster shape, designed on each main side with exquisite, classic lotus flower and scroll motifs utilizing thin wires forming borders filled with enamels, the side shoulders inlaid with stone and glass beads, stopper.
