Patek Philippe. A fine and very rare 18ct gold and diamond manual wind commemorative limited edition flared rectangular lady’s wristwatch

18-jewel, Cal. 16-250, rhodium plated, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and five positions with Gyromax balance and Geneva quality seal, matte silver dial with applied diamond indexes and outer minute division, gold feuille hands, curved sapphire crystal, curved flared rectangular case with extended shoulders, original strap with 18ct gold Patek Philippe buckle, case back engraved ‘Commemoration 1997 Pagoda’, case, dial and movement signed, accompanied by certificate of origin, watch rate and attestation certificate 22mm x 32mm.

Footnotes

Inspired by the reference 2441 'Eiffel Tower', this lot is the lady's version of the Pagoda model was launched by Patek Philippe in 1997 to commemorate the inauguration of their new watchmaking facility in Geneva. The Pagoda reference 5500 was made in a limited edition of 1100 examples in 18ct yellow gold, 250 in 18ct white gold and 50 in PT950 platinum. The destruction of tools and dies used in the manufacture ensures that this model can no longer be produced.
