Footnotes

In 1994, Girard Perregaux and Ferrari began a decade long collaboration that celebrated the technical precision and dashing style of the two brands. Girard Perregaux was one of the first watchmakers to create automobile related watches inspired by the mechanical finesse of the car's dashboard. This particular model celebrates Ferrari’s double victory in the Formula 1 World Championship in 2004 and is named F1 053, after the Ferarri motor number system. The materials used in crafting this timepiece are references to characteristic features of Formula 1 racing cars - the case housing the mechanical self-winding movement is in aluminium, whilst the caseback, push buttons and crowns are crafted in titanium. The carbon fibre dial also features a city ring carrying the name of Marenello - home to Scuderia, where the racing division of the Ferrari automobile company is based.
