Footnotes
A comparison of the gilded monogram on this lot with that on the Coalport vase painted by Pardoe at Bristol, Lot 270 in this sale, reveals that they are by the same hand and provides another distinctive Pardoe 'signature'. For a pair of Pardoe-decorated beakers, one marked Swansea in gold and one marked Cambrian, see Helen Hallesy, Swansea Pottery Collectors' Exhibition catalogue 2006, fig 8.19 and 8.20, p 89
