A Nantgarw plate

Circa 1818-20
Painted in London, probably in the Sims workshop, with fruit and flowers, including gooseberries and yellow rosebuds, the border with six small sprays and brightly coloured birds, a blue enamel line inside the gilded rim, 25cm diam, impressed NANT-GARW CW (some slight degradation to the green enamel)

A plate in very similar style and bearing traces of a gilded Mortlocks mark under the impressed Nantgarw mark was sold in these rooms on 10 December 2008, lot 342
