Footnotes
Another medallion, with a similar portrait but with a different background, is illustrated by A E (Jimmy) Jones and Sir Leslie Joseph, Swansea Porcelain Shapes and Decoration, p 158 and by Isaac J Williams, A Guide to the Collection of Welsh Porcelain in the National Museum of Wales, pls XV and XXXII. It would seem most likely that Young would have chosen a Welsh plaque and these medallions have therefore traditionally been ascribed to Swansea
