An interesting pair of Coalport plates of Welsh interest

Circa 1820.
The borders with C-scroll moulding, painted in the style of William Pollard with sprays including roses, speedwell, primroses and strawberries, the moulded scrolls picked out in green enamel and gold, 23cm diam (2)

Footnotes

The painting on these plates is by the same hand as that found on the Nantgarw bowl, lot 268 in this sale. Perhaps Coalport and Nantgarw blanks were bought in and decorated at Swansea, or perhaps they were decorated elsewhere by a hand who had formerly worked at Swansea
