Footnotes
This pattern is traditionally described as the 'Prince Regent' service. However, there appears to be little evidence to support an association with the Prince. See E Morton Nance, The Pottery and Porcelain of Swansea and Nantgarw, p 361. The painting is usually attributed to William Billingsley.
