Footnotes
See W D John, Nantgarw Porcelain Album, pl. 84 for a related cabinet cup and stand with the same handle form, floral panels on the cup and floral band on the stand. See also E Morton Nance, The Pottery and Porcelain of Swansea and Nantgarw, pl CLXXIXE and F for two more related examples. The only difference is that the illustrated cups stand upon three claw feet. The underside of the cup on this lot bears three scars which were partly glazed over during manufacture. It seems likely that three claw feet were originally applied but became detached after the glaze firing and before the enamelling stage
