Circa 1831-50.
Of octagonal section, the zoomorphic handle with legs and claw feet at the lower terminal and a stylised animal head resting on the rim, four lion-head spouts mounted on the shoulder, the neck pierced with circular and heart-shaped holes, printed in light green with a shell and flower design, a formal border around the rim and spouts, 15.6cm high (crack to rim, fine crack around lower handle terminal)

This rare jug is discussed by Glynda and Neil Speed, Some Unrecorded Swansea Pottery, Minerva, Vol V, p 18 and is illustrated in fig 1. The pattern, border, lion-mask spouts and piercing are all Swansea features but the shape is most unusual
