A Worcester teapot and cover

Circa 1755-58.
Of globular form with a loop handle and curved spout, printed in red with the 'Bagpiper', the piper playing to a lady seated in a garden with classical ruins, a hound at their feet, the reverse with the 'Singing Lesson' with a lady and gentleman seated in a garden by an urn and ruins, the cover with smaller vignettes of a shepherd and companion, painted with scrollwork to the handle and spout, 14.5cm high, two incised lines within footrim (the cover broken and repaired with replacement metal finial, spout chipped) (2)

Footnotes

The 'Bagpiper' print is after a design by Jacopo Amiconi of Spring. This example appears to be a more unusual variation including classical ruins. For an impression of the print without ruins from a copper plate held at the Museum of Worcester Porcelain see Cyril Cook, The Life and Work of Robert Hancock (1948), item 8
