A 20-Bore Brass-Barrelled Flintlock Pistol
By King, Possibly John 3, London, Circa 1760

With two-stage barrel slightly flared towards the muzzle, octagonal breech engraved with foliage and inscribed 'London' along the top flat, engraved tang, border engraved flat bevelled brass lock signed on a foliate scroll, figured full stock (repairs) carved with a shell behind the barrel tang, cast and chased silver mounts comprising pierced rocaille side-plate, vacant foliate escutcheon with a shell above, grotesque mask butt-cap, later brass trigger-guard with pineapple finial and engraved bow, and later horn-tipped ramrod (some wear and rust patination overall, forward ramrod-pipe replaced), London proof marks
