A 54-Bore Flintlock Box-Lock Pistol, And Another Of 40-Bore
The First By Joiner, John, London, The Second By W.W. & T. Mason, Both Circa 1765

The first with turn-off cannon barrel, border engraved action (cock replaced) signed on a foliate scroll on each side, sliding trigger-guard safety-catch engraved with a flower-head on the bow, and figured flat-sided butt inlaid with silver wire scrollwork (minor losses, some rust patination overall), Tower private proof marks; the second of similar form (cock, steel and top-plate replaced, butt with minor repair, worn and pitted overall), London proof marks (2)
