A Brass-Barrelled Flintlock Blunderbuss
Signed Sykes, London, Early 19th Century

With two-stage barrel turned and belled at the muzzle and fitted with spring bayonet above, octagonal breech engraved 'London' along the top flat, plain tang, signed flat bevelled lock (cock an old replacement) engraved with a starburst on the stepped tail and with rainproof pan and roller, figured full stock, brass mounts comprising butt-plate engraved with foliage on the heel tang, trigger-guard with acorn finial and engraved with a flower-head on the bow, brass ramrod-pipes, and horn-tipped ramrod, Tower private proof marks
