A Cased 13-Bore Pin-Fire Sporting Gun
By Agnew, Welshpool, Circa 1865

With twist sighted barrel retaining faint traces of maker's details along the top flat at the breech, long slender foliate engraved tang, rounded action, under-lever with chequered finial, signed back-action lock and hammer (retaining screw replaced) all engraved with scrolling foliage, figured butt, chequered grip and detachable fore-end, the latter with dark horn tip, and foliate engraved trigger-guard and butt-plate (worn and some pitting overall): in later leg-of-mutton leather case tooled with initials 'S.H.' on one side, Birmingham proof marks (2)
