A Rare .44 Allen & Wheelock 'Second Model' Six-Shot Centre Hammer Lip-Fire Army Revolver
No. 160, Circa 1860

With sighted barrel, octagonal breech stamped 'Allen & Wheelock. Worcestor. Mass. U.S.A. Allen's Patents Sept 7. Nov. 9. 1858' along one side, plain cylinder, later model loading-gate hinged at the bottom, rounded action, hinged trigger-guard operating the rammer within a shaped housing on the right side, arbor pin (catch missing), and figured rounded grips (some bruising, hammer spur repaired, metal parts with minor pitting in places, refinished overall)
