No. 2800, Circa 1876-80

With nickel-plated sighted barrel stamped 'Merwin Hulbert & Co. New York U.S.A. Pat. Apr 17. 77. June 15. 80. Mar 14. 82. Jan 9. 83' along the top and pivoting sideways for cartridge extraction (sprung catch replaced), top-strap, nickel-plated fluted cylinder, nickel-plated frame, trigger-guard and butt, the latter numbered '1970' and with mount for suspension ring (missing), sprung arbor pin catch, and later rounded white-plastic grips (re-nickelled overall)
