A Spanish 12-Bore Percussion Belt Pistol
Mid-19th Century

With short two-stage barrel turned at the muzzle and girdle, octagonal breech engraved with foliage, foliate engraved tang and lock, the latter possibly dated '1851' (?) and with external main-spring, figured full stock with chequered rounded butt, ovoidal pommel with engraved silver cap, foliate engraved iron side-plate and trigger-guard, silver fore-end strap, iron belt-hook, and fan-shaped silver escutcheon engraved with initials 'RJ' (minor rust patination, ramrod missing)
