A French Flintlock Blunderbuss
Early 19th Century

With two-stage twist barrel engraved with lines around the elliptical muzzle, turned girdle and octagonal breech stamped 'C. Peyron' beneath, plain tang, flat lock with brass pan, figured full stock with chequered grip and fore-end (minor splits and repairs), butt with cheekpiece and carved with a flower-head and foliage behind the barrel tang, foliate engraved iron mounts comprising shaped side-nail plates, butt-plate and trigger-guard each with pineapple finial, baluster ramrod-pipes, the rear one with engraved foliate finial, and iron ramrod (some surface patination overall)
