A French 15-Bore 1816-22 Model Flintlock Officer's Pistol
Dated 1822

With sighted barrel (some pitting) dated and stamped with two inspector's marks at the breech, tang etched 'Mle 1816', flat bevelled lock (top jaw and screw replaced) etched 'Mre Rle de Mutzig' and struck with a crowned 'L' in a diamond beneath the brass pan, figured half-stock with chequered rounded butt, regulation brass mounts comprising trigger-guard and rounded ovoidal pommel, brass fore-end cap also forming the ramrod-entry, and later iron ramrod
