An Extremely Rare Lining For A Great Bascinet
Probably Late 15th/Early 16th Century

Of plainly woven jute or hemp stitched together and padded with wool or tow, worn over the head, pointed at the front and back, open at the face and up each side, and retaining its original adjusting cords (some wear and damage)
