A German Shot-Proof Half-Armour Of Siege Weight
Early 17th Century

Of iron, comprising a burgonet with two-piece skull (two internal patched repairs) with high roped comb (repairs) and made in one with the pointed upturned peak and neck-guard each with turned and roped edge, plume-pipe at the rear, and domed iron rivets of brass floret-shaped washers (hinged cheekpieces missing), breast-plate with low medial ridge drawn-out to a blunt point above a short flanged skirt at the base, the latter with catches for tassets (missing) and with a row of small dome-headed brass rivets above an incised line border, the back-plate en suite and with remains of a leather belt (surface rust and pitting overall) (3)
