A Composite Pikeman's 'Spanish' Morion, Gorget And Breast-Plate
Basically Mid-17th Century

Of steel, the first with one-piece skull rising to a blunt 'stalk', the base encircled by lining rivets on remains of brass washers and with a brass plume-pipe at the rear, and downturned brim with turned edge pointed fore and aft, one point struck with an armourer's mark 'W (?)', a dot above; the gorget of two main plates hinged together on the left and secured by a pin and keyhole catch on the right, the front plate drawn out to a blunt point, and with turned recessed border; the breast-plate with low medial ridge drawn out to a point at the base and with short flanged skirt, the main edges with plain turns (minor holes and some pitting overall) (3)
