An English Bullet Crossbow
Late 18th/Early 19th Century

With slender steel bow, built-in gaffle retained by a sprung catch at the rear, folding back-sight engraved with foliage and retaining the very faintest traces of Liverpool(?) maker's name, sprung folding fore-sight mounted above the button finial, figured flat-sided tiller (old repair) with gun butt and chequered grip, and engraved iron mounts comprising scrolled side-plates, butt-plate, and scroll trigger-guard with pineapple finial (iron parts pitted overall)
