A Greek Or Balkan Cartridge Box (Palaskes), And Six Various Powder-Flasks
Mostly 19th Century

The first of white-metal and of square form, the front with applied gilt-copper cast, pierced and chased with flowering foliage, the sides and hinged slightly domed lid en suite, the back with pierced belt-mount; the second comprising a French brass-mounted flask with rounded lanthorn body (split) flattened on the back, shaped top mount with knurled nozzle (loose), reeded brass medial mount, and four rings for suspension, another of similar form, with mottled brown horn body (damaged, nozzle missing), a French flask with copper body embossed with a trellised design between borders of foliage on each side, the base embossed ' B. A Paris' on both sides, brass top with sprung nozzle, and four rings for suspension, two other flasks, each with bag-shaped copper body (damaged, nozzles incomplete) embossed with a gundog flushing duck in a landscape on each side, and a reproduction eagle and revolver flask (7)
