Third Quarter Of The 16th Century

With long sharply tapering double-edged blade (some pitting) of flattened hexagonal section with border incised central fuller on each side at the forte stamped 'Shagvm', tapering rectangular ricasso with incised line borders, blackened iron hilt of swelling bars of circular section comprising recurved quillons with ovoidal terminals and small button finials, downcurved arms each with upcurved projection with terminal en suite with the quillons, side-ring interrupted on both sides by a central ovoidal feature and bent down at the centre with further ovoidal terminal, and with trifurcated inner-guard, large globular pommel with turned button, and grip bound with twisted iron wire between Turk's heads
