Early 17th Century, English Or Dutch

With tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section cut with a narrow fuller over each side at the forte, iron hilt comprising cup-guard of slender bars forming six petals each filled with a plate pierced with numerous stars and small circles, linked by slender bifurcated arms to the slender downscrolled quillons, one arm extending to form a side-ring and swept-up to join the knuckle-guard, the latter screwed to the globular pommel with integral button, and spirally twist wooden grip bound with twisted iron wire
