An English Basket-Hilted Broadsword
Mid-17th Century

With tapering double-edged blade indistinctly incised 'Andrea Ferara' on each side at the forte and with running wolf mark beyond, fullered rectangular ricasso incised with a trefoil-shaped mark on each side, 'Irish' guard of slender rounded bars joined at the top and involving a saltire on each side incised with pairs of lines, slender fore-guards, globular pommel, and later spirally-grooved wooden grip (some wear and pitting overall)
